Lester Harvey Eddy

It is with broken hearts that the family of Lester Eddy aka “ Mayor of Long Pond” age 85 years, of Swift Current, announce that he passed away peacefully at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on November 18th, 2024.
Lester was born in Garden Cove, NL on June 9th 1939 and moved to Swift Current as a young boy, where he lived most of his life. This is where he met and married Betty (Beck) Eddy and raised their family.
Throughout his life Lester worked as a heavy equipment operator & mechanic, lumber mill owner/operator, hunting guide, tug boat operator, linesman foreman and he was a Jack of all trades. This lead to him making numerous acquaintances and life long friendships. He was a very memorable person and left a lasting impression on many.
Lester loved anything to do with the outdoors, hunting, trouting, snowmobiling, quadding, boating/navigation and he loved to spend time at his cabin in Long Pond “ His Happy Place” with his Long Pond Family.
Lester had many true life adventures and experiences. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing his stories with everyone.
Lester is predeceased by his parents Arthur & Alice Eddy, wife Betty, sons Phillip Hagerman & Dave Kendell. Brothers Herbert, John, Alec, Walter, sisters Violet, Maude and Jennie. Left with loving memories are his son Michael (Diane), daughters Jacqueline (Darren) and Lesley (Travis). Grandchildren Amy, Kadri, Kristy- Lee, Heather, Kristen, James, Charmaine, Jesse, Ryan, Joshua and Destiny. Great-Grandchildren Robbie, Alex, Kadence, Kaeleigh, Jackson, Chloe, Hailey, Keyaira, Arabella, Maddox, Sierra, Harper, West, Emma, Lexi, Paige and Mylah. Special friends Noal Hutton, Dr. Noal Brown, Brian Collins, Greg Stacey, Grant Stacey, Geoff Stacey and many more too numerous to mention.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of life at Swift Current Academy in Swift Current on Saturday, November 23 @ 2pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Foundation.
