Ted (Edmund) Frederick James WELLS
It is with heavy hearts that family announces the sudden passing of Ted (Edmund) Frederick James WELLS while doing what he loved doing; twacking around his favorite place in Hickman’s Harbour, Random Island. The home was his little piece of heaven.
Ted is predeceased by his parents Clouston and Alma (Cook), his niece Gail Martin and close friend John Fry.
He leaves to mourn his partner Elaine Burke, children Pamela (Peter Cawthorne) and her mother Rosalind, Shawn (CJ) and his pooch Deputy Dawg, Dawn Marie (David Roy) and their mother Georgina along with her pooch Tater. Forever loved and missed by his sisters Ella and Pat as well as brothers-in-law Clyde Martin and Bill Masters.
The absolute light of Ted’s life was his grandchild Samantha Belle Roy. She was the sparkle in his eye. Not a day went by where he wouldn’t think of her and want to be where she was.
Ted will also be deeply missed by his step grandchildren Graham and Alastair Cawthorne.
Also left to mourn is his nephew Rob Martin (Tanya) along with their children Chase and Paige whom he cared for deeply.
Ted leaves behind some very special friends who were always there for a tea and a chat whenever needed; John Butt, Victor Mullett, Lambert Burke, Harry French and Gail Penney.
Ted’s hard working and generous nature always drew people to him. His willingness to give the shirt (often holes and all) off his back and to be there to help were the hallmarks of his personality. He always put others first and never wanted or expected anything in return. Ted had many friends and extended family who will miss sharing a good laugh with him.
A big thank you to the paramedics who worked tirelessly to help and to Vardy’s Funeral Home for their kindness and professionalism. A special thank you to Wayne Marsh and Zack Green.
The animals around Mt. Pisgah will surely miss his feedings. He would always make special stops at the grocery store to buy “groceries” for his “pets”; squirrels, birds and any other wildlife that would stop to say hello to him.
A private service is planned for next year. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to The Salvation Army or the local SPCA.
