Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and an eternal sadness, that the family of Matthew David Dwayne Ashford, announce his untimely passing, at the age of 36, on April 29th 2024, at Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook.
Matthew was a kind and caring soul who had an endless circle of friends. Although he didn’t have any children of his own, he had a special place in his heart for kids and there were many who were close to him and loved Matthew like family. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting and fishing, a day at the beach or snow boarding and skidooing in winter.
Matthew leaves behind; his loving mother Florence Parsons Gale and his Dad, best friend and hunting buddy Leroy Gale; sister Tanya Parson, brother Colby (Jolene), stepbrothers; Alex (Megan), Justin (Jennifer), stepsister Stephanie (Steve), half siblings Kathleen Gates, Nicole, David, and Donna Ashford, his Grandmother Gloria Parsons, Grandpa Gale and Uncle George. His father Dave Ashford and special Uncle Henry Ashford. He also leaves his large underground drilling family as well as his coworkers at Major Drilling, plus a big circle of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 2nd and Friday May 3rd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at East Haven Funeral Home Inc., 57 Grand Bay Road, Port aux Basques, NL. Funeral service will take place at East Haven Funeral Home, starting 8 PM, May 3rd 2024, officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Cremation to follow.
