Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Darren English announces his sudden passing at the Dr. Charles L LeGrow Health Centre on November 21st, 2024, at the age of 51 years. Darren was the beloved son of Audrey English and the late Carl English. He was also predeceased by his grandparents John & Louise English and Gordon & Cleophus Smith.
Darren leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his mother Audrey English; sister Tonya (Lorne); brother Carl English; niece Cassidy (Justin); and a circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Darren lived a remarkable life, embodying the spirit of resilience and teaching those around him the true meaning of facing adversity with grace and a smile. Despite a life expectancy of just 15 years, Darren blessed us with his presence for an incredible 51 years, proving that time is measured not in years but in the moments we create and the love we share.
Known for his ability to connect with everyone he met, Darren left a lasting impression on all, whether at the Mountainside store or Valley Pharmasave. He was a familiar sight on his green Toyota four-wheeler, visiting friends around Rabbit Road, spending time with his sister, or simply enjoying a chat. His laughter echoed through the community, a testament to his joyful spirit and cherished friendships.
Darren was an avid fan of WWF Wrestling and the Blue Jays, finding joy in watching baseball games and playing matches on his beloved Xbox 360. Yet, his greatest pride and joy was his niece, Cassidy, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond. As Uncle Monkey Head, he loved her with his whole heart, creating countless memories that will forever be etched in our hearts.
In keeping with Darren’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and family are welcome to visit on Wednesday, November 27th from 7 – 9 PM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Upper Ferry. A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, November 28th at 11 AM from St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Upper Ferry, with Father Prakash officiating. Interment of ashes will follow at the Mount St. Thomas Roman Catholic Cemetery, Great Codroy. Funeral arrangements were in the care of East Haven Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.
