With broken
hearts, we must let you know that Carrie Van Puymbroeck (Smith) passed
away on Mother’s Day May 12, 2024 in Carbonear, NL.
She was a
beautiful soul, loved by many, and has left this world far too
early.
Carrie was a
kind hearted mother, wife, daughter and friend, who is survived by her
husband Jeff, and their three beautiful children, Mason, Trevor, and
Makena. Carrie is also survived by her Mother (Carol), Brother (Mike),
and Sister (Shelley). Carrie’s nephews
Ryan and Emerson and nieces Jessica, Mary, Katy and Laura share in the
grief of her passing. The Van Puymbroeck family Anne, Ed
(Marg) and Wendy have loved Carrie since she was a teenager and will
miss her greatly.
Carrie’s father George Edward (Ted) Smith
unfortunately recently passed away whom she missed
dearly.
She had
limitless love for her dogs Rosco, Sydney and Rufus; our Bernese Rosco
was especially close to her heart.
Carrie’s life was filled with various
adventures; she had the opportunity to live in three Provinces and
spend time in the South Pacific. Each destination has many
memories; she was drawn to the mountains in BC, and the beaches in New
Caledonia. Newfoundland became her home away from home in
2003, and has a special space in all of our
hearts.
Carrie loved
to garden to provide fresh veggies for the family, and that will be
missed. She loved all types of music, and I will sadly miss
the weekends playing cards and listening to our old Punk rock
favorites.
Carrie’s connections to her teenage friends
were timeless as well, and she thankfully had the opportunity to see
Nikki, and Danielle recently. Without doubt,
Carrie’s friends in Newfoundland Mary Lou and Wanda (Craig),
and Dave will miss her as well.
We will all
miss Carrie deeply, but should be comforted in the memories that we
shared with her, and know that she is now at peace united with her
father, her beloved dogs, and her Best Friend Ann
Marie.
In lieu of
flower we ask you to consider donating to the Canadian Hearing
Association, or the Heart and Stroke foundation in Carrie’s
name.
A Celebration
of Life will take place at Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia, NL on
Thursday, June 6th from 7:00pm to
9:00pm.
We also plan
to celebrate Carrie’s life in Ontario with a memorial
service. Details will be provided as soon as they are
finalized.
