It is with profound sadness and a broken heart that I announce the passing of my best friend, my Mom, Anna Bernice Scott (nee Myles) on Friday, May 24, 2024 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s, NL.
Mom leaves to mourn myself Debbie and son-in-law Jerry; grandson Scott (Faye); granddaughter Jenna (Jeremy); great-grandchildren Peyton, Jackson, Ty, Charlotte, and Myles; brother Billy Jim; devoted nephew Andy (Gail); as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews all of whom she held very dear to her heart; her Card Girls in St. Bernard’s; and a huge body of family and friends.
My Mom was born and raised in St. Bernard’s and just totally loved being a part of the community and it’s people. In recent years she spent her winters in Price George BC with me and my family and developed many close friendships there as well. It was the highlight of the year when Nana would be arriving!
Mom will be remembered for her never ending energy, her zest for life, her kindness, her selflessness, her compassion, her generosity toward others, and her deep friendships with so many. She took pride in everything she did, and got a gleam in her eye when she was often described as a “Fashionista” and fondly referred to as a “Freak of Nature”, due to her undeniably youthful good looks.
Mom is predeceased by my Dad, Tom; her parents, Florence & Austin; sisters, Loretta, Christina and Vivian; parents-in-law, Marion & Hughie; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Myles and Scott families.
Very special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Support Staff of ICU and 7 West at St. Clare’s Hospital who provided her exceptional care and showed such appreciation and respect for the special lady she truly was. No words can express the gratitude for the devotion of my cousins and our exceptional friends for their hours of visiting, support, sharing of stories and words of comfort to me an my family during this tragic time.
The Family will be accepting visitors at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, St. Bernard’s on:

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, St. Bernard’s on:

Internment to follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, St. Bernard’s.
