He retired when the college closed in 1996 and for 20 years he enjoyed boating and cabin life during the summer. In the winter months he travelled to various places with Betty, brother Gerald (recently deceased October 15/24) and wife Julie. What he enjoyed most of all was attending Dylan’s and Nolan’s hockey games and practices and their basketball games. They were his pride and joy.
Ross was very active in sports all his life. He played baseball and hockey while growing up in Buchans and was a hockey player with The Buchaneers . He also acquired two black belts, one in Karate and one in Aikido. He taught these two disciplines to adults and youth in Lewisporte.
