Diana Pearl (Brown) Freake – Passed peacefully away at North Haven Manor in Lewisporte on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the age of 90 years.
She was born in 1933, in Joe Batt’s Arm to the late Andrew and Dora Brown. She moved to Norris Arm in 1950 where she met and married Eric Freake in 1952. Together they raised five wonderful daughters.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her daughters; Sheila (Murray) Whiteway, Glenda (Shawn) Hutchings, Barbara (Harold) Lidstone, Beverly (Alwin) Wheeler; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Diana will be missed by her sister Eunice (Alexander) Cull; brothers, Joseph (Alvia) Brown, Frederick (Marina) Brown, along with her sisters-in-law June Freake, Joan Beaton, Marlene (Vincent) Marshall, and her brother-in-law, Wilson (Gloria) Freake. As well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Predeceased by her husband Eric; daughter Phyllis Taylor, sister Stella Jewer; parents in law, Eli and Nina Freake, sisters-in-law Melinda Sparkes, Ruby Freake; brothers in law; Willis Freake, Oscar Sparkes, Enos Beaton, and nephew Lorne Marshall.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kingsway Living and James Paton Memorial Hospital for the care shown to their mother.
Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-4 pm, and 7-9 pm from Bethany Pentecostal Tabernacle in Norris Arm with funeral service to be held on Monday, July 1 at 2pm. Interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery.
Flowers accepted, or donations may be made in Diana’s memory to the Bethany Pentecostal Cemetery fund.
