It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Merrill Stoodley on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, at his residence, age 75 years, of Harbour Breton.
Wayne leaves to mourn his loving family: common law partner, Ellen Dennis at Harbour Breton; son, Paul Stoodley at Harbour Breton; daughter, Bonnie Goguen (Mike) at Kingston, ON; grandchildren, Michael (Leslie), Katie and Mitchell; former wife, Gertie Stoodley at St. John’s; daughter in law, Corina Hunt at St. John’s; brothers, Sidney Stoodley (Margaret) and Eric Stoodley, all at Harbour Breton; sister, Linda Hunt at Harbour Breton; aunt, Ivy Collier at Port Aux Basques; special friend, Sammy Oliver, at Old Perlican who he thought of as a son; special friends, Wilson and Bridget Day at Harbour Breton; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wayne was predeceased by his great granddaughter, special little angel, Avery Stoodley; brother-in-law, Andrew Hunt; sister-in-law, Vera Stoodley; parents, Gordon and Ella Stoodley.
Visitations will take place on Monday, December 9 at Spencer’s Funeral Home, Harbour Breton from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, December 10 from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm. Family Service will take place at 7pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024 at 2:00pm at Spencer’s Funeral Home Chapel at Harbour Breton with Rev. Jonathan Durdle officiating.
Cremation will follow.
