Eileen Sheppard (Mullins)
Eileen Sheppard (nee Mullins), of Rencontre East, passed away at Lionel Kelland Hospice on September 4, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving family with broken hearts and loving memories.
Eileen leaves to mourn her loving family with broken hearts and a lifetime of memories: daughter, Grace Hardy (Ray); granddaughters, Jessica LeGrow (Duane) and Nena Caines (Corey); great granddaughters, Kadence and Harmony; brother, Tom Mullins; sister, Suzanne Boone; as well as a circle of family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Janet Mullins; husband, Earle; infant son, Earle John; brother, Frederick Mullins; sisters, Elizabeth Foote, Pearl Ulch, Judith Mullins Wagner and Ethel Gale.
Eileen was an independent, hardworking woman who showed great pride and adoration for her family, especially her two great granddaughters who she fondly referred to as ‘Nanny Sheppard’s Little Treasures’. As an entrepreneur, she ran Judy’s General Store in Rencontre for 30 years. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed playing cards and scratch tickets (especially, Crosswords). In earlier days she loved spending time in the garden and berry picking. A dear family friend described her best as an inspiration to us all in the way she accepted and dealt with the obstacles in her life. Not expected to live through the night when she was born, the family is grateful and blessed for the many wonderful memories they shared together throughout the years. She will be forever loved, remembered and immensely missed.
A special thank you to her Home Care workers, Yvonne, Lori Ann and Pam for the care they provided throughout the years.
Visitations took place at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church at Rencontre East.
Funeral Service was held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church at Rencontre East on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tryphena Vallis officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Rencontre East.
