It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Garrett (nee Power) announce her passing on November 15, 2023 at the age of 61. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, after a brief but courageous battle with Cancer.
Predeceased by her parents, Maurice Power and Selena Gillingham; parents-in-law, Austin and Kay Garrett; sisters-in-law, Linda Kelly and Roz Garrett, and nephews, Corey Kelly and Maurice Power.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her devoted husband of 44 years Paul Garrett and her children Kelly (Dave) Shea and Justin Garrett (Randell Brett); brother and sisters, Moss (Catherine) Power, Rose (Ralph) Templeman, Sandra (George) Brown, and Dot (Darrell) Dalley; brothers-in-law Jeff Garrett and Myles Kelly; and Hayward Gillingham. Nephews and nieces Jeff (Tara), Jennifer (Chris), Tracy, Michelle (John), Mindy (Kerry), Mandy (Andrew), Sheldon (Shari), Brad Brown; Chris (Ashley), Cory (Amanda), Caitlyn (Matt), and Brad Garrett.
Also leaving to mourn are her pride and joys, her grandchildren, Stella, Garrett, and Jack Shea; best friend Barbie and a large circle of extended family and friends.
We will remember Jean as a loving and selfless Wife, Mother, and Nana. Her sense of humour and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
At Jean’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Stacey’s Funeral Home on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Private Interment to follow at a later date.
Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Jean’s Memory can be made to the Daffodil Place 70 Ropewalk Lane St John’s NL A1E 5T2 or a charity of one’s choice.
