It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Hall announce her peaceful passing at the Gander Long-term Care Home on Sunday December 17, 2023 at the age of 92 with her family by her side.
Left to mourn are her sons Robert (Terri), Terry, and David (Joanne), grandchildren Adam (Trina), Lesley (RJ), Andrew, and Mark, and great grandchildren Charlie and Max, and many nieces and nephews.
Eileen was pre-deceased by her husband Robert, parents Edward and Emily (nee Penney) Penney, brothers Maxwell (Beatrice), Herbert (Elsie), Les (Francis), and sisters Evelyn (Leonard) Hayley, and Olive (Frederick) Wells.
The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care that Eileen received from the wonderful staff at the Gander Long-term Care Home and Lakeside Homes over the past five years.
Eileen lived a life dedicated to caring for others and finding joy in simple pleasures.
Eileen was a devoted caregiver and selflessly tended to her own elderly mother, her mother-in-law, and her late husband for many years. She also found joy in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished the moments spent with family, creating memories filled with love and warmth.
She loved line dancing which brought her much joy and many friends. She also enjoyed playing cards, engaging in friendly competition, and celebrating her many victories and opponents’ defeats.
Eileen possessed a creative flair. She delved into crafts such as needlepoint, macrame, and sewing, having completed a dressmaking and seamstress course at the Gander District Vocational School.
Beyond her personal pursuits, Eileen dedicated many years of service as a volunteer at the James Payton Memorial Hospital.
The family will be accepting friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, between the hours of 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A family funeral ceremony, officiated by Reverend Mark Kingsbury, will take place on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Stacey’s Funeral Home, with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Gander.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donating to the Janeway Children’s Hospital.
