Wallace Patrick Young
March 1,1944 – January 20,2024
It is with great sadness that the family of Wallace Patrick Young (Wally) announce his passing on January 20,2024, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, at the age of 79 years.
He leaves to mourn with many loving memories, his daughter Lisa, his sons Brian (Marcella), and Brent (Patricia), his sister Rose (Dave) Morgan, his grandchildren Kendra (Alex), Faith, Brett and Nick, and his great-grandchildren Addison, Elliot and Brooklyn.
Wally was predeceased by his wife Diana Young, and parents Wallace and Margaret Young.
Wally was a welder by trade he joined the boilermaker’s union in his early 20s where he started a career that employed him in many provinces across Canada, in his spare time he enjoyed working in his garden, being “on the water” fishing, working in his garage or having drinks with friends. His love of animals will be forever remembered by all that truly knew him, over the years he offered homes to many animals, mostly dogs, cats and birds, with a very special mention to his stray cat Wano of which he took care of daily.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will not be visitation or funeral service, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home Stephenville Crossing Newfoundland.
