Shirley Margaret Rabbitts (Margie)
June 9, 1958 – November 16, 2023
Margaret passed away peacefully, Nov 16, 2023 at the age of 65, after a brief yet brave battle with cancer, with her close cousins Susan and Natalie by her side.
Having lived and worked in Corner Brook her entire life, Margaret had met many friends and coworkers in her various jobs over the years, including her 20 year career with Oceanex.
Margaret’s love of nature was evident in her beautiful handmade original artisan pieces;many of which she gifted to family and friends. Her talent was truly amazing.
Margaret will be forever loved, missed, and remembered by her cousins; Joanne Veinott, Susan Anderson, Geoff Veinott, Natalie Specker, Doug Cook, Wendy Mills, Tracey Taylor, and their families.
Also left to mourn her passing are Mrs. Blanchard, many friends and neighbours she met along the way, and in particular is her long time best friend, Michelle Daniels, with whom she shared so many late night chats.
She was predeceased by her father, Max Rabbitts, her mother, Jean Rabbitts, her brother, Fred Rabbitts, grandparents, and many special aunts and uncles.
Margaret was also predeceased by her long time partner Rod Blanchard.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Unit 4A, Chemo Unit, and Palliative Care who took such wonderful care of our dear cousin. We are forever grateful.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. John van Vliet officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the SPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society.
