Mary Jane Dalton (nee Clarke), 78, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, passed away on May 20,2024 in Happy Valley Goose Bay Long Term Care.
Mary Jane was born in Spotted Islands to Maxwell Clarke (dec.) and EmilyTurnbull Clarke (dec.) on April 28,1946. She went to school in Cartwright and was proud to be an elder of NunatuKavut. She loved dancing and listening to music, enjoyed walking and cycling and was an avid dart player, winning many awards. She was proud to become an A player in her final year playing for McNally’s Ladies Dart League.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband Ernest Melvin Dalton of Goose Bay, children Danny Dalton, Lorne Dalton (Christine King) and Tina Dalton (Rendell Shears), grand children Alex, Emily, Cole, Brie, Tyler, Megan and Brandon and great-grand children Lily, Isaac and Jacob.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Robert Clarke, Lawrence Turnbull and Greta (Turnbull) Morris.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Long Term Care, Happy Valley Goose Bay, NL.
