Gregory Coombs
June 23, 1967 – January 11, 2024
Corner Brook, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gregory Coombs announce his unexpected passing on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 56 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his mother: Dinah; sister: Carol Ann (Stephen); daughters: Kassandra and Morgan; son: Matthew; and grandchildren: Larry and Leah, as well as a large circle of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
Gregory was predeceased by his father: Albert Coombs; grandparents: Lawrence and Marion Coombs, and Victor and Mary Hull.
Gregory was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan as well as an excellent dart player, he played amongst some of the best dart players in Canada. He was also a proud member of both The Royal Canadian Legion and the Qalipu First Nation Band.
As per the families wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue with Reverend David Russell officiating. Interment to follow at Townsite Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the family to assist with the funeral expenses.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Fudge, Dr. Hanout, the nursing staff on the 3rd floor of Western Memorial Regional Hospital, and to all his surrounding family who assisted in Gregory’s care.
