It is with great sadness that the family of the late Edgar Penney announce his passing on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Corner Brook Palliative Care at the age of 91 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Myrtle (Baker) Penney of 68 years; his children: Barbara (Harry) Butt and Beverley (Gerry) Smith; his brother Robert; his sister Isabelle Goobie; his grandchildren: Christopher, Randy, Neil Brian and Courtney; his great-grandchildren: Emmanuelle, Penelope, Addison, Samuel, William, Gregory and Graham. He was predeceased by his son Ashley, his parents James and Suzannah Penney, his sisters Madeline (Martin) Stuckless, Eva (Hector) Prosper, Valma (Oliver) Funk, Rose (Roy) Squires, Inez (Manson) Osmond and Verna Penney. A special thank you to Dr. Griffen, staff of Western Memorial Hospital and Palliative Care during his stay there. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday, October 24, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. from First Pentecostal Church, Premier Drive with Pastor Larry Soper officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or a donation may be made to First Pentecostal Church.
