Clyde William Symes passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 after a short illness at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s at the age of 73 years. He was comforted by his wife, daughter and son during his last days. Clyde was born in Parson’s Harbour, NL to Lucy and John Symes. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his wife Brenda, daughter Lisa (Mark) Muir, son Jason (Joanne) Symes; grandchildren, Danielle Muir, Lana and Natalie Symes; siblings, Ida (Roland) Simms, Gladys, Lorraine (George) Ereaut, Calvin, Ruth (Glen) Porter, Keith (Glenda) Symes, Denis (Cindy) Symes, Darlene (Paul) Peddle, as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Lucy and John Symes, sister Shirley Simms, niece Debbie Simms, mother and father-in-law Rebecca and Patrick Pittman, brother-in-law Don Simms, sister-in-law Doris Symes.
Clyde was a good man who greatly loved his family and close friends Sam, Wanda and Jeremy, just to name a few. He loved his home in Burgeo and cabin in the Bay-de-Loop. He will e sadly missed by family and friends.
Visitation will take place from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Burgeo on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., from where the funeral service will be held on Friday, May 3rd at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Elsie Rose officiating. The interment will follow at Burgeo Community Cemetery.
