David’s Obituary
KENNY, David Bernard – Passed away peacefully at Carbonear General Hospital, with family by his side on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023, David Kenny – Age 75 years.
Predeceased by his wife Chris (Ontario); parents: Tom and Alice; sister Theresa; aunts and uncles: Rob, Jack and Bill Kenny; Tom and Catherine Doyle, and Bess and Jim Whelan.
Leaving to mourn his loss with fond memories his sister Frances Kenny; his family in Ontario; special grand-daughter Amber; Cyril and Kay Ghaney and family; Kay Wall and family; Kevin Grace and family; and good friend Rick Ghaney.
Dave left his hometown of Kitchuses at age 22, and made Ontario his home for 52 years. He moved back to Colliers 15 months ago to reconnect with his sister Frances. Dave had a successful life in Ontario, where he helped raise a family with Chris. He had a great career installing overhead doors. After retirement he purchased a farm where he raised lamas, sheep, donkeys, and he always had cats. He truly loved all animals and the outdoors. Whenever you talked to Dave he always had a story or two to tell about the adventures of having a farm.
Resting at Flaherty’s Memorial Funeral Home, 70 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Harbour, with visitation times to be announced.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Immaculate Conception Church, Colliers, at a time to be announced.
Inurnment to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Conception Harbour.
In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory can be made to the SPCA.
