Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, January 29th, 2024, age 88 years. Predeceased by her husband Carl of 63 years, son: Blaine, son-in-law: David Mercer, granddaughter: Lisa, parents: Hilda (Stokes) and Abner Blackwood, parents-in-law: Ewart and Minne Blackwood, brothers and their spouses: Peter (Edwina), Gus (Cherry), Joe (Alma), Leaze (Evelyn), Bob (Syretha), Ross (Gertie), sisters and their spouses: Stella (Ronald Roberts), Neta (Phillip Burry), Maude (Clarence Janes), brothers and sisters-in-law: Ada, Sophie, Cora (Snowden White), Barbara Lomax and Alma. Left to mourn with fond and precious memories her sons: Robert (Elsie), Phillip, daughters: Joan (Allan), Rhonda, grandchildren: Gary, Tracy (Mike), Kerri, Kayla (Cy), great-grandchildren: Piper, Joey, Liam, Aiden, sisters and brothers-in-law: Eleanor Blackwood, Elsie (Art Howell), Nina (Mike Cahill), Margaret (Roland Carter), Eric Barefoot, Claude Barefoot, Leo Barefoot. Also, a large circle of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Friday, February 2nd, 2024, from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. Funeral service in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at 1 pm. Interment in All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Dunn’s Hill Road, Foxtrap.
