Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital on June 22, 2024 after a battle with cancer, Maurice Chafe of Bristol’s Hope, age 67 years.
Predeceased be parents: Albert ‘Bud’ and Mildred; parents-in-law: William and Edith Hunt; brother-in-law: Michael Hunt.
Left with fond memories wife: Gale; daughter: Rebecca; granddaughter: Soleil, the center of his universe; brothers: Fred (Karen), Ralph (Sharon), Harold (Pauline), Albert (Suzanne), Kevin (Kim); sisters: Debbie (Paul), Nellie (Brian); sister-in-law: Janet (Walter); nieces and nephews: Brendan, Colin, Cory, Jeremy, Mitchel, Melissa, Brianne, Abby, Emily, Bernie, Brian, Sandy, and Sheri; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
Maurice was a skilled carpenter who could build anything with wood. He was a great outdoor enthusiast and cherished spending time at the cabin in Terra Nova with his close buddy Walter and his friends Gordie, Dean, Neil just to mention a few.
He loved living in Bristol’s Hope close to his nephew Sandy (Lynn) and their boys Josh and Denver. His special little buddy next door, Jamieson, provided endless conversation and entertainment which Maurice found very comforting.
Thank you to Dr. Renelle Butt for continious care and support throughout Maurice’s illness.
Visitation at Noel’s Funeral Home, Harbour Grace on Wednesday, June 26 from 10:30 to 12:00 noon, 2:30 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
At his request, cremation has taken place. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA, P.O Box 273, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1B7.
