It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Johnathan Roy Clarke, born on September 19, 1982, in St. John’s, NL. Johnathan left us unexpectedly on October 1, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
From a young age, Johnathan was known for his radiant smile that could light up any room. He had a passion for swimming, which brought him immense joy until he was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 7. In the last decade, Johnathan faced numerous challenges due to his condition, losing his sight and the use of his legs, and spending three days a week in dialysis. Despite these hardships, he displayed remarkable strength and resilience.
Johnathan was predeceased by his mother, Judith Ann Clarke (née Kirpatrick), and his stepmother, Rose LaFreniere Clarke. He leaves behind his loving father, Roy Clarke, as well as his stepsiblings, Marie LaFreniere and James LaFreniere. He will be dearly missed by a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who hold him close in their hearts.
Cremation has taken place, and a service to celebrate Johnathan’s life will be held on October 11, 2024, at 2 PM at Broughton’s Funeral Home in Brigus, NL.
