Memorial Donation
With sadness we announce the sudden passing of Frank Ryan of Marysvale at the age of 75. He left this world peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his mother Evelyn Ryan; brother Terry (Marilyn); parents in laws John Arthur and Susan Mercer; and brothers in laws Eugene (Alice), Art, Reg, Leander and Mose.
Leaving to mourn his beloved wife Iris (nee Mercer); children Suzanne (Rob) Craig, Francis (Gwen), and Patti (Mike) Hurley; brothers Patrick, Brian, Ray (Marilyn), and Eddie (Janice Butt); sisters Patricia (Ron) Lynch, Joan (Jim Whelan) and Mona (Tony Ryan); brothers in laws Sam (Angeline), Bert (Susan), and John (Kay); sisters in laws Sue Barrett, Sylvia Barrett, Jean Mercer and Pat Mercer; special cousins Jack and Bill Ryan; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The greatest title he ever held was that of Pop and his biggest joy was spending time with them, Robin, Shaelynn, Robbie, Emily, Ryan, Nicholas, Luke, Isabella, Connor and Lyla.
We will forever be thankful for the cherished lifelong friendships Dad has formed throughout his journey, including those with his special friend Ernest Edwards and the Hedderson Family.
Dad was a devoted member of UA 740 for over 50 years. Frankie as he was known by his union brothers had worked many projects within Canada, where he formed a lasting brotherhood.
Throughout his life he had many beloved animals who he loved to cuddle and listen to music with, especially his cat Tim. He is now reunited with his precious dogs Sophie and Jose.
This loss has left our hearts broken and our grief heavy, but he lived a life to be celebrated and cherished, which we will do by sharing the many memories we hold close to our hearts.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be at Broughton’s Funeral Home, 17 Station Road, Brigus on Friday, August 16 from 10 AM to 9 PM.
Funeral service to take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, from Our Lady of Snows Church, Marysvale at 11 A.M.
Inurnment to follow in the R.C. Cemetery, Brigus.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the SPCA Baccalieu Trail or the St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fund.
