Doreen was born in St. John’s in 1938 and moved with her family to Bay Roberts in the early 1950s. From an early age mom was always maintaining a busy life working at various jobs (including going to Labrador on the Kyle). On top of that she kept a busy household raising four children and was always busy doing yard and house chores, while her husband worked away for extended periods. She developed and maintained an independent attitude that kept her strong for her busy lifestyle.
Mom would always like to tell stories about her childhood and growing up with her parents and siblings. She also was deeply devoted to her faith and to her church and church family which gave her strength right until the end. All the wonderful stories and memories were your special gift and will never be forgotten; they bring joy and comfort. Just thinking of you will always bring a smile. You were such a special mother. Our hearts will always feel warm thinking of the special moments and memories we each shared with you.
Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy donations may be made in her loving family to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA.
