Carmine was born in Morra De Sanctis, Italy.
At a young age he left for Switzerland, to work on a farm. Upon his return he met the love of his life, Antonietta, and were married in 1953.
Shortly after they welcomed their beautiful daughters.
In 1959 Carmine immigrated to Winnipeg to make a better life for his family, leaving behind his wife and two daughters. One year later they were reunited. With the change of air in Winnipeg, they welcomed their two sons a few years later.
Together they built a beautiful life for their family.
Carmine worked very hard for many years in the construction business, later on he went on his own until he retired.
He could make and fix anything. All you had to do was give him an idea and he produced it.
He spent many hours in the kitchen with his wife making homemade pasta, cheese, sausages, and baking, with a lot of arguing and laughing. We were all rewarded with his yearly, wine making. He was always proud to share his fruits of labour from the garden with his family and friends.
His pride and joy of course were his children and grandchildren, and all of their accomplishments. One of his favourite things was having his family around the dinner table at Sunday lunches and holidays. We’d look over at him and catch a tear in his eyes. Now we have the tears, missing him!
Pallbearers; Joe Grande, Adamo Chiola, Carmelino Grande, Tom Foderaro, Brenden Stubler, Filip Gagic.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Concordia Hospital for the exceptional care you gave Carmine, and a very special thank you to Father Greg for your visit and prayers the day before he passed.
Carmine/Dad/Nonno, there will always be a void in our hearts, until we meet again. RIP. We love you!
