Glen SCHROEDER Obituary
Glen passed away at the Rosetown Hospital on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024. Glen was born on September 17th, 1963. He grew up in Chamberlain and attended Holdfast Shell School where he graduated in 1981. Glen started his working career at the age of 16. He had many jobs throughout his life. He worked for Sonny Boy Esso in Chamberlain and as a parts person for Schroeder Brothers for many years. Glen was also a business man running a convenience store in Chamberlain and was part owner of the Elephant Bar in Aylesbury. He retired from the hotel earlier this year and moved to Rosetown to be closer to his special friend / life mate Justina Robinson and her family. Glen had a passion for carpentry and automotive repairs. He loved to tinker. Glen enjoyed gardening, fireworks, baking, cooking, canning and making sausage, and he had a special love for dogs. After retirement he could always be found finding a new recipe online or ordering parts for a new hobby he’d discovered. Glen was not much for holidays, but his favorite was Halloween because in his words “ at Halloween every kid gets the same “. Glen made friends everywhere he went and will be remembered for his kind, gentle and generous personality.
We would like to give a special thanks to the care team at Rosetown Hospital for their unwavering commitment, care and support in Glen’s final months.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Shirley Schroeder. He is survived by his siblings Gary Schroeder and Maureen Tremblay (Bill), nephews Mitchell Nielson (Ashley), Brody Nielson (Taylor), and their children James, Brynlee, Nash and Nina. He is also survived by his life mate Justina Robinson and children Dennei, Dacey and Angelina Robinson – Newell and Jackson Dorosh as well as Glen and Justina’s dogs George and Fauna.
The celebration of Glen’s life will be held on October 25, 2024 at the Aylesbury Hall from 1pm – 3pm. A private graveside will take place at a later date at the Aylesbury cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Glen may be directed to the Aylesbury Cemetery Fund.
