Obituary
Dave Bruce Norberg was born on April 10, 1961, in Theodore, SK, to Henry and Elsie Norberg. Dave was the fifth child out of eight kids in the Norberg family. He loved growing up on the family farm. His brothers and sisters meant the world to him, and they all enjoyed all aspects of the farm.
Dave was so talented in many areas. There wasn’t much he could not fix. He loved to share his knowledge of mechanics, carpentry, fishing, and knowing God with his family and friends.
Dave met the love of his life in Yorkton in 1999. Jennifer was working in Melville at the bank and soon Dave was employed with Melville Housing Authority. They were married in Yorkton, SK, on June 9, 2001.
Jennifer had a job opportunity with the bank in Yorkton, so they decided to move to Canora to be closer to her side of the family. Dave and Jennifer purchased a house in Canora where they have resided since 2006.
They were so excited to be expecting their first child in 2007. Jayden was born in 2008. Dave was so proud to be a father. Several months later, Dave started his employment with the Sunrise Health Region in the maintenance department.
Dave and Jennifer were also blessed with the birth of their daughter, Jael in 2013. Their family was complete.
It was an extremely hard day when Dave was diagnosed with cancer in May 2023. Dave had great faith in God throughout his battle and it meant so much to him that his family and friends were with him along the way these last 18 months.
Dave’s last days were spent with his family, siblings, and close friends. It was so beautiful to see how much he meant to so many people and will continue to be. He received excellent care from the Canora Hospital staff and his co-workers.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Elsie (Doman) and his niece, Sheena Norberg.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Roll); son, Jayden, and daughter, Jael; his brothers and sisters: Donna, Edward, Carl (Allison), Linda (Steve), Allan (Joan), Jim, and Robert (Melissa) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of Dave’s life will be held from the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK with Pastor Brett Watson officiating.
Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to a Trust Fund for Jayden and Jael as tokens of remembrance.
