Ruth Jacquemot (née McLaren) est décédée paisiblement à Laval le 12 septembre 2024, à l’âge de 88 ans. Elle rejoint son époux bien-aimé, André Jacquemot, qui nous a quittés le 2 juillet. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Sophie (Joël Racle) et Philippe (Marie-Hélène Hofbeck), ses petits-enfants Émilie, Chloé, Ariane et Cédric, sa sœur Susanne, son frère Léo ainsi que plusieurs parents et amis. Nous gardons d’elle le souvenir d’une mère et d’une épouse affectueuse, attentionnée et généreuse. Ruth était toujours disponible pour ses enfants et ses petits-enfants, qu’elle adorait.
Née à Rimouski, fille de Léo McLaren et de Thérèse Côté, elle complète ses études en nutrition à l’Université Laval. Elle commence sa carrière de diététicienne à l’hôpital Notre-Dame à Montréal. Ruth rencontre André à Montréal et l’épouse en 1961. Plus tard, quand ils s’installent à Ottawa pour y élever une famille, Ruth poursuit sa carrière à l’hôpital Sacré-Cœur de Hull.
La famille recevra les condoléances le samedi 5 octobre dès 13h30 à l’église catholique Marie-Reine-de-la-Paix, au 11075 Boul Gouin Ouest à Pierrefonds. Les funérailles seront célébrées à 14h00. Une réception suivra au Complexe funéraire Yves-Légaré, à Pierrefonds, 14370 Boul. de Pierrefonds.

Ruth Jacquemot (nee McLaren) died peacefully in Laval, Québec, on September 12, 2024 at the age of 88. She joins her beloved husband, André Jacquemot, who passed away on July 2. She is survived by her children Sophie (Joël Racle) and Philippe (Marie-Hélène Hofbeck), her grandchildren Émilie, Chloé, Ariane and Cédric, her sister Susanne, her brother Léo and many relatives and friends. We remember her as a loving, caring and generous mother and wife. Ruth was always present for her children and grandchildren, whom she adored.
Born in Rimouski, Québec, daughter of Léo McLaren and Thérèse Côté, she completed her studies in nutrition at Université Laval in Quebec City. She began her career as a dietician at Notre-Dame Hospital in Montreal. Ruth met André in Montreal and they married in 1961. Later, when they moved to Ottawa to raise a family, Ruth continued her career at Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Hull.
The family will receive condolences on Saturday, October 5 at 1:30 p.m. at the Marie-Reine-de-la-Paix Catholic Church, 11075 Gouin Blvd Ouest in Pierrefonds, followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to a reception following the ceremony at the Yves-Légaré Funeral Complex, at 14370 Boul. de Pierrefonds.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Ruth Jacquemot.
