WOODEND, James “Jim” – Passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the age of 85.
Beloved husband of Patricia “Pat” Woodend (nee Fallowfield) whom he married on October 9, 1959. Father of Shawn Woodend (Donna Dobberstein), Jamie Woodend and Randy Woodend (late Michelle McFarlane) (Denise Menard). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Kyle, Krista (Chris), Kyra; J.T., Jon (Marcy); Rebekkah (Colton), Michael (Vicki) and great grandchildren Harper, Layton, Briar, Harley and Mikaela. Survived by his brother Derek Woodend (Sandra) and sister Glenda Payne (Jim). Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Predeceased by his parents Herbert and Doris (nee Nicholls) Woodend and sisters Linda, Joyce and Kathy.
Jim was an avid golfer and had memberships at various local golf courses over the years. He was a member of Woodstock Lodge of Perfection #33, Mercer Wilson Lodge # 678 and the OCNVA (Woodstock Navy Club).
A memorial visitation will be held at the SMITH-LeROY FUNERAL HOME, 69 Wellington St. North, Woodstock (519-537-3611) on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 2–4 pm and 6-8 pm. The committal service will take place at Christ Church Anglican Cemetery, Huntingford on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 1 pm.
A very special thanks to the Nurses and all the staff at the Arches Transitional Care Unit where Jim had stayed his final 8 months, a further thanks to Carla Mels.
