Allen McCurdy Obituary
Allen passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on September 13, 2024, at the age of 94. He is once again by the side of his beloved wife Bertha Mae McCurdy (nee Roth). Loving father of Brenda McCurdy, Susan Kent and Kathy Freeman (Bill). Much loved grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Allen will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was predeceased by 3 brothers, a sister, a son-in-law (Rick, 2010), and his grandson (Trevor, 2018).
Allen was a member of the Woodstock IOOF for over 60 years. He was also an employee of the Woodstock PUC, where he served his community for over 30 years. Allen loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman for most of his life.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, 845 Devonshire Ave., (519-539-0004), on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, with an Odd Fellows service at 5:30pm. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place at Christ Church Huntingford Cemetery following a time of fellowship. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Allen can be made to VON Sakura House Woodstock, VON Day Program, the Alzheimer Society or charity of your choice.
