Oreste Salerno passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Italy, Oreste immigrated to Canada where he built a rich and fulfilling life. He is now reunited with his beloved wife Vittoria Maria in Heaven.
Oreste will be deeply missed by his children Francesco, Rodolfo (Sandra), Francesca (Anthony), Luciano (Alison). He will forever live in the hearts of his grandchildren Rudy (Cari-Lynn), Victoria (Michael), Christina, and Nicolas. His memory will also be cherished by his loyal companion and best friend forever, Freddie.
In Heaven, Oreste joins his late parents Francesco and Francesca and all of his late siblings. He will be fondly remembered by his surviving brother-in-law Remo (Rosina) and sisters-in-law, Pierina, Elvira and brother-in-law, Giuseppe.
Oreste had a passion for music and singing, and his vibrant personality made him the life of every party. He had a knack for humor and was known as a joker among his family and friends. A dedicated worker, Oreste’s love for his family was evident in everything he did.
Visitations for Oreste have been entrusted to the DeMarco Funeral Home – Woodbridge Chapel (8003 Weston Road. 905.850.9500) and will commence on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Jane Frances Roman Catholic Church (2747 Jane St., Toronto, ON). Immediately following the Mass, an Entombment Service will take place at Glendale Memorial Gardens (1810 Albion Rd., Etobicoke, ON).
If so desired, the family suggests donations to the Kidney Foundation may be made as it was a cause close to Oreste’s heart.
Oreste Salerno’s legacy of love, laughter, and hard work will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved wife for eternity.
