It is with indescribable sadness that we announce the passing of Christa Lauder peacefully at home June 1, 2024 surrounded by the adoring family that loved her most and vowed to be by her side.
Christa was the most cherished and beloved first child of Mary and Harry Lauder. From her first breath, she filled our lives with a joy and happiness that couldn’t be measured and we couldn’t be more proud of the way she chose to go on and lead her life. Christa led and lived by example. She was always kind, thoughtful and understanding. She treated everyone with respect and in a manner she would like to be treated herself. Christa was utterly and completely selfless, always and without exception putting others needs ahead of her own. This alone led her to the generosity she is so well known for. Her generosity was quite literally unmatched, some would say to a fault.
Christa was a devoted, watchful, fun loving sister to Laura and Ian Lauder. They enjoyed their times together whether it was just out for a meal or traveling, which they did together frequently.
Christa’s absolute biggest joy in her life and most treasured role and responsibility was that of devoted and doting aunt to Quinn Lauder. They shared a bond unmatched and impossible to be broken. Christa lived her life for this child, constantly planning what she and Quinn would do next. It all started with the planned trip to Santa’s Village at the North Pole before Quinn was even born. They made that trip and the adventures have never stopped.
Christa attended the University of Windsor attaining both her under grad and Masters Degree of H.K. She later pursued a career at General Motors, Tech Centre in Warren Michigan. Christa was a devoted employee of General Motors for several years, frequently traveling the world on their behalf.
Christa loved to travel and has been fortunate enough to see a good part of this world. She also loved the outdoors and took every opportunity to experience nature and all of the adventures it had to offer.
Christa comes from a very large, extended family and she leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins. Most heartbreaking, is she leaves behind many, many very dear friends who like us cannot comprehend what has taken place here. She also leaves behind her much loved, very spoiled pet dog “Klara Dog”. Christa loved you all.
The family invites you to come and share you memories of Christa at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Visiting with Christa’s family will continue on Saturday from 11am until time of A Celebration of Christa’s Life at 12 noon.
A procession to Heavenly Rest Cemetery will follow.
Dearest Christa – How lucky we are that you were ours. Our love for you can never be explained or measured – But we know you get it and understand – and you also know, we will “See you later”
The grief we feel today is a measure of the love that preceded it. In time the grief will fade, but the love will remain. It is her gift to us that we get to carry with us always.
