PHOENIX, Eileen Theodora –
Eileen Theodora Phoenix was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world peacefully on November 15, 2023, at the age of 96. She was born to Joseph and Theresa Cropper on April 1, 1927, in Biche, Trinidad and was the eldest of 8 children. She lived in England for many years working as a seamstress before moving to Canada to continue her career and remained close with her daughter and extended family until her passing. Eileen is survived by her beautiful daughter Cheryl, son-in-law Tony, granddaughter Amanda, grandson-in-law Elton, and great grandson Elias. In addition, she is remembered by her adored siblings Sybil, Jean, and Loretta (deceased Valerie, Clive, John, and Beryl). She spent much of her time creating paintings, writing, and reciting poetry and enjoying quality time with loved ones.
The Funeral Mass for Eileen will take place on Wednesday, November 22nd at St. John the Evangelist Parish (903 Giffard Street, Whitby, Ontario) at 10:30am. If you wish to attend Mass from a distance, please join the family via livestream www.youtube.com/channel/UCmek-bkCv91AX_g0V5hZzxg. A short graveside ceremony will be held immediately following the mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery – (355 Taunton Road East, Whitby, Ontario). Flowers are welcome; contributions can also be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Eileen Phoenix.
