POULIN, Eddy – Surrounded by his loving family, Eddy passed at the age of 72, on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Welland Hospital. Devoted husband of Nona (nee Stelmaschuk) for nearly 53 years. Loving father of Melissa Fudali (Mark) and Kevin. Cherished grandpa to Sarah Fudali.
Brother of Lucille Poulin, Carole Belanger (Paul), Doris Robichaud (Mike) and Marcel Poulin and brother-in-law to Danny and Dennise Stelmaschuk. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Hector and Therese Poulin, his father-in- law and mother-in-law
Sam and Doris Stelmaschuk, sister Linda Mink and sister-in-law Micheline Poulin.
Eddy was an industrial electrician at Welland Forge for over 51 years and then P.C. Forge for about 2 years.
Sensei Eddy was a distinguished 6th degree karate black belt who was an immensely valued and honourable member of the Welland Martial Arts Centre and the Shintani Wado Kai Karate Federation for over 35 years.
Throughout these years, he dedicated himself to teaching weekly karate classes for children, youth and overseeing the family program. With an additional martial arts membership, Sensei Eddy also held the rank of 2nd degree black belt in Iaido (the drawing of the sword).
Thank you to the nurses, Jade and Chris, and the PSWs for their excellent palliative care.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held In St. Mary Church on Saturday, July 13 at 10 o’clock a.m. officiated by Father Raymond Fenech Gonzi. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
