Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the age of 32 years.
Beloved son of Eduardo and Lucia and cherished brother of Maria.
Predeceased by his grandfather Joselino Escobar, grandmother Ana Silvia Pulido, grandfather Henry Sr. Ortiz, grandmother Ana Francisca Rodriguez, aunt Nubia Janet Ortiz, and uncle Henry Jr. Ortiz.
Juan was born in Bogota, Colombia on November 16, 1990, to Eduardo Escobar and Lucia Ortiz. In August of 1998 the Escobar family moved to Miami, Florida where he was raised with his aunts and cousins. Before his high school graduation in 2008 the Escobar family moved once again to Kitchener, ON where he completed his post-secondary schooling. He graduated from Conestoga College in 2015 with a diploma in Business and Wilfred Laurier University in 2018 with a degree in Political Science and Sociology.
Juan was very passionate and aspiring about his life goals. He enjoyed learning, reading literature, discussing history, travelling, taking pictures, playing soccer, snowboarding and most of all he loved his own company. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Special thanks to our family in Canada, Colombia, Florida, and Europe for all their love during this very difficult time. In addition, we want to thank everyone who has reached out to our family with their kind words and support.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will have taken place.
