On the Lord’s Day, in His perfect timing and with his wife at his side, the Lord mercifully and peacefully called home His child Seine Datema out of his earthly suffering on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of 62 years to Renee Datema (nee Ludwig). Much loved father to Simone and James Deboer, Dorene and Mark Kucharski, Alan and Melanie Datema, and Jason and Joanna Datema. Dear Grandpa to Justin (Anne), Scott (Arynn), Dave (Tamara), Rachel (Jonathan), Colin, Lucas, Nicole (Ian), Sasha, Meaghan, Caleb (Cassandra), Noah (Victoria), Naomi, Renata, Clara, and Neil, along with 22 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Alerd Jan and Hendrika and siblings Hendrick, Pieter, Gerrit, Grietje, Jan, Johan, Geert, Gerrit Jan and three infant siblings. Survived by sisters-in-law Henny and Jenny. Beloved brother-in-law of John† and Frances Ludwig, Shirley and Hugo† Pilon, Grace† and Vic Schreimer, Ed† and Ann Ludwig, Wilma† and Henk† DenBroeder, Joanne and Hubert deBruin, Harold and Tina Ludwig, and Frank and Annette Ludwig.
Friends can visit the family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 6-9 pm at COVENANT CANADIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 480 Woolverton Road, Grimsby where the Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11 a.m., Rev. Rolf denHollander officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. The Interment service will be held at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery prior to the Memorial Service at 10 a.m. Please sign the Tribute Wall.
