Leon Winniski Obituary
Passed away on April 8, 2024. Beloved husband to the late Lena Winniski. Loving father to Michael (Michelle), the late Gene (2016) and Michelle (Pasquale). Adored Gido to Joshua, the late Alexander (1996), Geoffrey, Andrew, Bethany, and Owen. Leon will be missed by many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. We take comfort knowing that now Lena and Leon are back together forever.
Leon was a boiler maker for over 65 years and dedicated his life to prayer often saying the rosary for those around him. He loved the outdoors, and spending time hunting, fishing and camping in his youth.
Leon’s family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. M. Ridha for his tireless work, the CCAC team who advocated for Leon and Lena and guided their family above and beyond what was required of them, the staff at Macassa Lodge for their compassion and efforts, and neighbours who contributed to Leon and Lena’s care throughout the years.
Friends may visit with Leon’s family on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, with a Funeral Mass following at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CHURCH 715 Centre Rd., Waterdown beginning at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Spinal Cord Injury Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Please sign the Tribute Wall.
