Geraldine (Gerritdina) “Diny” Vanderhout (nee Bartels) Obituary
At the Juravinski Hospital, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the Lord took unto Himself our mother, Oma and great Oma, Geraldine “Diny” Vanderhout, in her 93rd year. Predeceased by her husband Tony (2021). Beloved mother of Brian and Lisa Vanderhout and Marian Vanderhout. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Laura and Andrew Bosscher and Jaimee and Landon, Marlaina and Scott Post and Maizie, Josie and Rory, Bradley and Ashley Vanderhout and Madelyn. Survived by sister-in-law Tina Bartels, and brother-in-law Andy Vanderhout and sister-in-law Frances Vanderhout in Canada and by brothers and sisters- in-law Maart and Coby Vanderhout, Wim Vanderhout and his friend Immy Vrijland and Bep VanDam all of the Netherlands. Predeceased by her brother Willem and his wife Jenny Bartels, brother Martin and his wife Biny Bartels, brother George and his wife Roelie Bartels, brother Mannes Bartels, brother Klaas and his wife Egberdina Bartels, and brother John Bartels. Also predeceased by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Klaas and Tine Vanderhout, Mac and Anne Vanderhout, Jan and Maaike Vanderhout, Adrie and Jan VanStaalduinen, Suus and Jaap Boers, Leen Vanderhout, Pauline Vanderhout and Betty Vanderhout. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews here and in the Netherlands.
A special thank you to the amazing staff at Village of Wentworth Heights for their support and compassionate care while Mom lived in the Williamsburg neighborhood and to the staff at the Juravinski Hospital F3 ward.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown from 6 – 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at CORNERSTONE CANADIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 353 Stone Church Rd. E., Hamilton. Pastor John Louwerse officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Hamilton Cemetery. Live streaming of the service and interment is available under “Events”.
