Catharina de Jong (nee Offringa) Obituary
Promoted to glory, Catherina passed away quietly at Shalom Manor, Grimsby at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late William (Bill) for 67 years. Dearly loved mother of Joni Euesden, Hilda Dosi, the late Rudy de Jong, Cathy and Chris Love, Henry and Corinne de Jong, and Rob de Jong. Proud grandmother of 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She will be remembered fondly by her brother Renny (Brigitte) Offringa and their family in Australia, and also sisters, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews in Holland.
Catharina has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour but leaves behind many fond memories and stories for all those she touched in her lifetime. A very special thanks to the staff at Mount Nemo, and also recently Shalom Manor.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at EBENEZER CANADIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 607 Dynes Rd., Burlington, where a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 11 a.m. Interment to precede the service at Burlington Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Anchor Association would be appreciated by the family.
