Anna Jelsma (nee Schaaf) Obituary
The Lord in His compassion took unto Himself Anna Jelsma on May 25, 2024 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of Henk Jelsma (†2010). Dear mother of John Ligtenberg (Margie †2010), Mike and Roleane Ligtenberg, Tracy Jelsma, Nancy and Brian Vandenbos, Henry Jelsma, Margaret and Koos Torenvliet, Luke and Jill Jelsma, Wilma (†2005) and Nick Torenvliet, Tony and Kelli Jelsma, and Cathy and James Feenstra. Loved grandmother of 39 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her first husband Albert Ligtenberg (†1963) and two sisters. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Greetje Hulst, Wim and Alie Oosterbeek, Ina Jelsma, and Ans Niewenhuis.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care by the staff of the Carpenter Hospice for Mom’s final days.
Friends may visit with the family at EBENEZER CANADIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 607 Dynes Road, Burlington on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 10 a.m., Reverend Dr. G. Nederveen officiating. Interment to follow at Burlington Memorial Gardens. If so desired, donations to the Carpenter Hospice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
