DAL, Jacobus “Jake” – Passed away peacefully on Sunday May 5th, 2024, in his 89th year at Hospice Quinte. Jacob was predeceased by his wife Judith Van Nigtevecht in 1993. He will be deeply missed by his long-time partner Frances “Fran” Spencer of Campbellford and her family. He will be deeply missed by his children, Pieter (Lisa) Dal of Carrying Place, Karin (Jerry) Grootveld and Yolanda Hamilton of Vancouver. Caring grandfather of Brandon (Kathryn) Hamilton, Benjamin (Alana) Grootveld, Samara Hamilton, Jake (Arielle) Grootveld, Kestra (Nicholas) Bott, Monique Grootveld, Patrick (Rae-Anna) Dal and Brendan Dal. At Jake’s request, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. The family wishes to thank the staff at Trenton Memorial Hospital and the staff and volunteers at Hospice Quinte for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Quinte would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOME, 60 Division Street, Trenton (613-392-2111).
