Gloria Faith George (nee Snyder)
Born October 25th, 1959 in Wallenstein, Ontario, died at peace in the presence of family on February 17th, 2024 at Belleville General Hospital, after a diagnosis of cancer in November. Gloria passed from this life into eternity with her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Faithful wife to H. Lee George. Loving mother of Micah George (Angela), Elizabeth Lecky (Jerome), and Joel George (Tamara). Proud grandmother of Daniel, Justice, Emily, Sophia, Gabriel George, and River Lecky. Lovingly remembered by her siblings Don, Doug (Eleanor), Dennis, Glen (Gloria), Gil (Lisa), and Sharon Etherton, and siblings-in-law Noreen Kewageshig, Janet Cloud, and Roy George (Karen). Dearly missed by friends, prayer circle “sisters”, and church family.
Predeceased by parents, Cleason and Beatrice Snyder, granddaughter Joy George, sister-in-law Victoria Snyder and brother-in-law Maynard George most recently, and other family members with whom she is now joyfully reunited.
Gloria touched many through her career as a nurse since 2001, serving at Belleville General Hospital and then Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, retiring there as Program Manager for Home and Community Care in 2020. Gloria applied her skills to ministries, friends and family throughout her life.
Throughout her children’s lives, Gloria was an attentive and caring mother whose patience and kindness for her family was only exceeded by her love. She radiated humble pride in her children and later her grandchildren.
Gloria was a faith-full volunteer, hosting Bible studies in her home, and was an avid prayer warrior. She loved to express herself through music, encouraging family and friends with song, and leading worship at her church and in local parks. She encouraged and listened well, and lit up any room with her loving and vibrant personality.

Visitation with Gloria’s urn will take place at the Weaver Life Centre, 29 Bay Street, Trenton on Sunday, February 25th from 2-4 PM, and a Celebration of Life will be held on Monday February 26th from 2-4 PM at At The Crossroads Church in Trenton, Ontario. A spring interment will take place with family at Kettle and Stoney Point First Nation.
