It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Revesz, a beloved son, brother, and father. John, born on December 31, 1982, left this world on December 10, 2023 after a courageous battle with mental health.
John’s journey was one of resilience, passion, and a deep sense of duty. Despite the struggles he faced, he found pride in the accomplishment of having served briefly in the Canadian Armed Forces. He found solace and joy in the world of computers, camping, and the enchanting tales brought to life on the silver screen, especially the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which held a special place in his heart. His tenacity was evident in his pursuits and love for his family. His mother, brother, and extended family will forever cherish the memories of the laughter he brought into their lives.
Above all, John’s greatest joy was found in the love he shared with Sarah, Simon, and his precious daughter, Lily Rose Revesz. His eyes would light up with pride and affection whenever he spoke of them. Lily, Simon, and Sarah were the anchors that brought immeasurable joy and purpose to his life, a testament to the profound love he felt as a father. John’s presence will be sorely missed, but his memory will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. In his struggles, he found strength, and in his moments of joy, he found peace. May he find serenity, free from the burdens that weighed heavy on his soul.
In lieu of flowers and a memorial, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation in John’s name, supporting the transformation of the way we understand and treat mental health.
