The family announces with sorrow his peaceful passing at the Timmins and District Hospital surrounded by his family on Sunday January 14, 2024 at the age of 87. Loving husband of 65 years to Doris Lauzon (Gagnon), proud father of Ron Lauzon (Mary-Ann), Douglas Lauzon and Julie (Dan Filion), grandfather of Kayla (Tyler Graham) and Nicholas (Carolina); great-great-grandfather of Nixon, Doris and Renata. Survived by his sisters Noella (Harry Sarkissian) and Michelle Lauzon.
Predeceased by his first-born daughter Brigitte (1961), his parents Emile and Antonia Lauzon, his sister Sylvia Lauzon and his brother Jean-Claude Lauzon.
Rejean and his wife worked hard all their lives in the family business of Road and Track Motorsport in Mattice in the 70’s. They were founders of Timmins Honda in 1980 until retiring in 1996. Rejean has enjoyed his son’s auto racing in the 80’s and 90’s. He had a love of cars and cottage life with his children and grandchildren. He was a great supporter of his grandson Nicholas’ professional Go-Kart racing. In his retirement years, he enjoyed riding his Harley with his wife on long trips all over Canada and the U.S.
The family would like to thank Dr. Auger, Dr. Houston and the nursing staff at Timmins and District Hospital for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. The family will receive family and friends at a later date for a Celebration of Life. La famille annonce avec regret son décès paisible le dimanche 14 janvier 2024 à l’Hôpital de Timmins et du district à l’âge de 87 ans. Époux bien-aimé de 65 ans de Doris Lauzon (Gagnon). Père adoré de Ron Lauzon (Mary-Ann), Douglas Lauzon et Julie (Dan Fillion); cher grand-papa de Kayla (Tyler Graham) et Nicholas (Carolina); arrière-grand-papa de Nixon, Doris et Renata. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil ses sœurs Noëlla (Harry Sarkissian) et Michelle Lauzon.
Prédécédé par sa fille aînée Brigitte (1961), ses parents Émile et Antonia Lauzon, sa sœur Sylvia Lauzon et son frère Jean-Claude Lauzon. La famille tient à remercier Dr. Auger, Dr. Houston et le personnel infirmier du plancher médical de l’Hôpital de Timmins et du district pour leurs excellents soins.
Rejean et son épouse Doris ont travaillé avec ardeur tout au long de leur vie, débutant avec leur entreprise familiale, Road and Track Motorsport, à Mattice, dans les années 70. Ils ont fondé Timmins Honda en 1980 et y ont travaillé jusqu’à leur retraite en 1996. Rejean prenait plaisir de suivre les courses d’autos de son fils pendant les années 80 et 90. Il avait une passion pour les autos et profitait de son temps au chalet avec ses enfants et petits-enfants. Il appuyait avec enthousiasme la carrière professionnelle de courses Go-Kart de son petit-fils Nicholas. Il a profité de longs voyages de Harley avec son épouse au travers du Canada et des États-Unis suite à sa retraite.
L’incinération a eu lieu. Les arrangements funéraires sont confiés à la Maison funéraire LESSARD. Une célébration de sa vie aura lieu à une date ultérieure. Vos témoignages de sympathie peuvent se traduire par un don à la Paroisse St-Joseph.
