The family announces with sorrow his passing on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 95 years. Predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years Valéda (née Dubé). Dear father of late Diane (Gaston), Phil Jr. (Lyse), Guy and Linda (Mike). Loving grandfather of Chantal (Shawn), Marc (Magali), Marie-Claude (Richard), André (Nicole), Wesley (Jennifer), Jason, Serge, Mah, Ashley, Cory (Vanessa), Natasha, Joe (Julie) and Vito. Great grandfather to 25 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Cherished by his companion of 7 years, Colette Proulx. Dear brother of Marie Rowlandson (late Burt). Brother-in-law of Clément (late Evelyne) and Guy (Annette). He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Maria (Baril), his parents-in-law Sylvain and Mary Dubé, his sister Germaine (Jean-Paul), his brothers Léon (Aurore) and Lucien, his son-in-law Gaetan Hébert and his brothers and sisters-in-law Gaston (Laurabelle), Vilma (George), Normand (Claire), Normande (Joachim). The family would like to thank Dr. Houston and the amazing nurses at TDH for the care that Philip received. Remembrance donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Cremation has taken place and a memorial Mass will be held in the spring of 2024.
