Laurette Groulx (Collin)
The family announces with great sorrow her passing at the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Maurice Groulx (2004). Loving mother of Daniel Groulx, Gilbert Groulx, Raymond Groulx and Cristine (Conrad) Gamache. Cherished grandmother of Christine (Richard), Caroline (Rolland), Jason, Laurie (Chris), Patrick, Angel (Rod), Nathalie (Leo), Alex, Michel (Julie), Melissa (Don) and Jamie (Jennifer), 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Lucille Cornier, Roger Collin (Doreen). Survived by a very special daughter-in-law Sue Groulx. Also left to mourn are her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Laurette was predeceased by her parents Donalda and Joseph Collin, her siblings André Collin and Angeline Martel (late René), her dear children Donald Groulx, Jacques Groulx and Jacqueline Courville (late Clifford) and her grandson Richard.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital for their care and compassion. A special thank you to nurse Gigi, Dr. Daniel Lebel, Dr. Jason Essue, Cathy Trepanier and Lynn Blais.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from the chapel of Miron-Wilson Funeral Home (Deacon Michel Néron officiating). A reception will follow in the Miron-Wilson Reception Lounge. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 7pm – 9pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 and from 10am – 11:45 am on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
