Obituary for
Jeannine Babela (Ranger)
The family announces with great sorrow, after her heroic battle with cancer, the passing of Jeannine Babela (born Ranger) at the Timmins and District Hospital on Wednesday, September 18th 2024 at the age of 87. Jeannine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Beloved mother of Debbie Carrier (Richard), Susan Magnan (Rolland) and Kim Babela. Cherished Momma of Cassandra Carrier (Mackenzie), Candice Carrier (Jason), John Magnan (Erin) and Jason Magnan (Breanne). Loving great grandmother to Tate, Finn, Molly, Ridge, River, Noah and Jack. Dear sister of Guy Ranger (Pat). She was predeceased by her husband, John Babela, her sister Reggie Byck and her parents Eugene and Gertrude Ranger. She leaves behind the wonderful staff and ever lasting friendships she created at Lasalle Retirement Home. Jeannine was founder and coach for the Special Olympics in Timmins. She was adored by all her athletes, as they lovingly referred to her as ‘mom’. Jeannine had a kind heart and loving soul, and her laughter and love will live on through her loved ones. Heaven gained one special angel. As per her request, she will be cremated, and a private celebration will happen with immediate family. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Timmins Special Olympics would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
