Puro, Eila Elisabeth (nee Kilpinen)
1932-2024
Eila Puro passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Chapleau General Hospital on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the age of 92 years. She was born in 1932 in Tampere, Finland. She married Veikko Puro and started a family. Moving to Canada in 1958 with Tuula, Erkki and Anita. Later they added Pauli to the family, living in Island Lake, then moving to Seven Mile Lake in Northern Ontario. She loved her many animals, the outdoors, boating, swimming, gardening and baking, her favourite recipes, Hiiva Leipa and piima kakku, to name a few. One of her favourite pastimes was having silver tea and desserts with friends and family, Mummu loved having her grandchildren visit for a weekend or a summer. Eila had a strong love for her creator Jehovah, and was an active member of the Chapleau congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. She will be sorely missed by all the people who knew and loved her. Her beloved children; Tuula Brock (Late George), Erkki Puro (Susan), Anita Yurick (Don) and Pauli Puro (Karen). Her loving grandchildren Angela, Melissa, Kristopher, Trista, Jonathon, Joel, Jenifer-lyn, Mikko, Amanda, Stephanie and her great grandchildren Jayden, Logan, Donnovan, Arianna, Janessa, Declan, Gage and Jacob. She was predeceased by her husband Veikko Puro, her granddaughters Jenina Brock and Tawnya Kenny, her parents Yrjo and Hilda Kilpinen, her sister Eeva Kilpinen and her brothers Kalevi and Olavi Kilpinen. The family wishes to thank the doctors, PSW’s RN’s and staff of the Bignucolo residence for their professional, compassionate and empathetic care that was bestowed upon Eila in her last days. Memorial service will be held in Chapleau at 32 Beech St. Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses Saturday May 25, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to jw.org or to Chapleau General Hospital Foundation (sschs). The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
