The family announces with deep sadness the peaceful passing of Denis on Thursday, October 24, 2024, surrounded by his family at the age of 62 years. Beloved and proud father of Melissa St. Amour (Ben) and Tina Tremblay (Forrest). Cherished and devoted grandfather of Evie, Fox, Quinn and Sunny. Loving son of Rose Gervais (late Roger). Dear brother of Monique Riopel, Lorraine Quesnel (late Denis) and André Gervais (Héléna Fortin). Denis is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, whom he cared for deeply. Predeceased by his father, Roger Gervais, sister, Anita Gervais, nephew, Daniel Gervais, and brother-in-law, Denis Quesnel.
Denis was selfless, kind, and truly devoted to his family and friends. With a great sense of humor, Denis’ loving personality touched everyone around him. He cherished spending quality time with his favorite people, especially when hunting, fishing, or camping was involved. He was also a dedicated worker, having spent 35 years servicing trains at Ontario Northland. Denis had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and he found peace and joy working on the farm. He brought joy to many lives and will be remembered fondly.
Respecting his wishes, cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11a.m. at St-Dominique Parish. A funeral mass will be held at 11am in the church. A luncheon will follow. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
