It is with great sorrow that the family announces the death of Darrell Chakasim on January 21, 2024 at the age of 34 years. Beloved spouse of Georgina Abby Nakogee. Cherished father of Layton, Stephanie, Tanner, Josielynn, Jaxton and Auralynn. Dear brother of Presley Chakasim, Juanita Chakasim, Micheal Wynne, Leanne Wynne, Lucy Ann Wynne, Valentino Wynne, Jennifer Tookate and Olivia Tookate. Son of James Tookate and the late Stephanie Chakasim. Grandson of the late Rachel Chakasim, late Ronald Wesley, late Phemi Tookate and late Eli Tookate.
Darrell was a true family man who always put his loved ones first. Darrell’s dedication to his family was evident in the way he showered them with love, support and kindness. He always made sure to say “I love you” to his loved ones. Darrell was well known for his famous laugh, “HAW HAW”. He was very helpful fixing vehicles, doing labour work and he loved travelling on the winter road. He’ll be greatly missed by his family, friends and his community.
A wake service will take place on Thursday, January 25 at 7pm from the Reg Louttit Sportsplex in Attawapiskat.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, January 26 at 2pm from the Moosonee Pentecostal Church in Moosonee. Darrell will be laid to rest with his late mother Stephanie and his late grandmother, Rachel Chakasim at the Moosonee Cemetery.
The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
